Whether you've had a hard day at the office, been working in the garden all day , or just need some quiet time to relax, nothing eases stress and tension like a soak in the tub.

Hydrotherapy is extremely beneficial in the relief of muscle tension, strains and injury recovery. Medical studies have also shown the benefits of hydrotherapy in the enhancement of circulation, which is important to anyone suffering from the affects of arthritis and diabetes. You may decide that simply soaking in a tub of hot water is not quite relaxing enough and you need that little something extra. If this is the case, then a whirlpool bath may be the solution you are looking for.

Whirlpool Baths

As little as ten minutes each day in a relaxing whirlpool bath can make the difference between a life of perpetual aches and pains and a life of ease. If you are considering a whirlpool spa bath but you don't want to completely replace your existing tub then you can convert your bath into a hydro-spa with a conversion kit.

There are several different kits on the market. The kits are installed by experienced technicians, usually within a day. They can usually be installed into any existing bath, no matter what material the bath is, as long as access can be got to one side of the bath and there are no obstructions in the way of the pump or pipe-work, with little mess or disruption.

The spas come with simple and reliable controls that allow you to bathe in complete safety and comfort. Everything you need is at your fingertips. Constant temperature allows you to stay in your whirlpool tub as long as necessary. At the same time, adjustable airflow gives you full control of jet intensity from a light stream of bubbles to a deep invigorating water massage.

How Much does a Whirlpool Bath Cost to Run?

The pump on a domestic whirlpool system is normally rated at about 4 amps, 0.37Kw and depending on the cost of a unit of electricity will generally cost around 3 pence per hour to run.

This can be offset against the savings on hot water because the hydro-massage action of a whirlpool breaks down the film of cool water which normally insulates the body in a hot bath, therefore with a whirlpool bath the initial temperature does not need to be as high as an ordinary bath.

Cleaning Your Whirlpool

Because a whirlpool re-circulates water from within the bath it is very easy to periodically add a specially formulated cleanser to a bath full of water and re-circulate it through the whole system. Cleansers can usually be purchased from the manufacturer or installer.

Enjoying Your Whirlpool

The air and water action of a whirlpool bath is one of the most effective means of releasing the potential of essential oils to work on your mind and body. In addition a whirlpool bath continually re-circulates the bath water ensuring even distribution of any essential oils added to the bath promoting absorption, inhalation and relaxation. You can also use low foaming bubble bath or a very small amount of regular bubble bath- other wise you'll be floating out on a sea of foam.
